About the Band:
Tony Tilotta's "Dakotas" is guitarist,founder and
band leader of Dakotas.

He put together Dakotas in the early part of 1996 to persue his own
musical project, and in the tradition of John Mayall,
J.Lee Hooker,J.Winter,Rufus Thomas,Muddy Waters, Willi Dixon,etc.

Tony has a revolving door policy where band members are concerned.

In this way the material stays fresh and on stage the energy remains high
and yet on a personal level.
Direct contact with the audience and their loyal fan base in particular
have made The Dakota's a crowd favorite where ever they perform.

In Tony's own words "we are in a constant process of fine tuning our
performance at every level, be it technical, emotional or improving our
song writing skills, it's always in a state of flux".

FROM MY FRIEND DAVE TO ME AND MY BAND:
Our Friend Tony:
We first met Tony at The Blues Garage in Hannover,Germany April 12,2002
while at the Carvin Jones concert who was performing with Leo Lyons,
Ric Lee and Chick Churchill of Ten Years After as his backing band.

We first approached him with the hopes of using some of his photos from that
gig on our Ten Years After website, he was kind enough to talk with my
partner Brigitte who made arrangements with Tony to send us the photos.
From that first evening on we all have become good friends.

Through our e-mails and being at concerts together over the last fifteen
months including TYA, Twin Dragons, Vanilla Fudge and B-Maniacs and two
outdoor festivals, it's always a real pleasure to see Tony
and spend our time with him.
When we plan on going to a special gig we contact Tony to see
if he will be there too, that gives us more cause for celebration.

He is a man of his word and more like family to us now than just
a good and trusted friend.
Handshakes have been replaced by hugs and he goes out of his way
to help us and everyone he can.

It has been said "that you can judge a man by the friends he keeps" and
second "that a picture is worth a thousand words", please have a look at
his "Friends Pics" section and see the company this man keeps!

Words can't thank you enough Tony for all you have done for us, your
friendship and honest support of our efforts have made a great
difference in the work we do on our website. Your photo contributions
were extraordinary and appreciated.
Your website looks great and we're both happy that you offer a German page
(for Brigitte) and an English page for me (Dave)
as well as one for your friends and fans back in Italy!

What more can we say, you're one of the best, and the best in everything
you do, and one of our best friends!!!
